Christine and Marcus Nilsson tried to have a baby for years. After exhausting all options, they decide to use a sperm donor. Then, three months into the pregnancy, Christine sees a news report about a man who has raped several women… and the man looks remarkably like the photo of their donor. This impossible situation thus poses the question: what would you do if the biological father of your unborn child was a killer? New York Times bestselling novelist Lisa Scottoline tackles this tough topic in her suspenseful new novel, Most Wanted.  Continue reading “Things Don’t Add Up In Lisa Scottoline’s ‘Most Wanted’ [REVIEW]”

If you grew up in the South like I did, you know that every time there is a gathering, whether it is for a wedding, funeral or even a community picnic, someone will undoubtedly bring a casserole dish filled with chicken spaghetti. It is simply one of those staples that every Southern woman (and many of the men) seems to know how to make, and everyone’s recipe is just a bit different from the last. Terror
Terror runs free in Heather Graham’s THE HIDDEN. (Photo by Marcelo Braga, Flickr)

When a couple is found brutally murdered at a Colorado bed and breakfast, the deaths are eerily similar to an unsolved case that happened nearly 150 years before on that very spot. What is the connection between the new crime and the cold case? And will investigators be able to find out the truth before the killer strikes again? Death lurks in plain sight in Heather Graham’s latest thrill ride, The Hidden.  Continue reading “Death Lurks In Plain Sight In Heather Graham’s ‘The Hidden’ [REVIEW]”

Karen Robards’ latest novel, Darkness, captivated me from the very first sentence. “It was an ordinary flight, on an ordinary day, full of ordinary people. Until it wasn’t.” Then the unthinkable happens and the plan crashes into the mountains. No one knows why. As someone who is already a nervous flier, this story line had my palms sweating right from the start.  Continue reading “Fasten Your Seat Belts Before Reading Karen Robards’ Nail-Biting Thriller ‘Darkness’ [REVIEW]”

Frito Pie [RECIPE]

Frito Pie
It doesn’t have to be game day to serve up a yummy family favorite like Frito Pie.

As a kid, Frito Pie was always one of my favorite school lunches. It was crunchy, cheesy and simply good, filling grub. But one of the things I didn’t like about it is that sometimes it was a little too oily, which wasn’t a good thing for a teenager worried about his complexion. Now I’ve replaced half the meat with ground turkey, added more seasoning for a deeper flavor profile, and even thrown in a bit of corn meal for extra creaminess. I hope you like this grown-up version as much as I do! Continue reading “Frito Pie [RECIPE]”
