Ever since we read Jeffery Deaver’s The Bone Collector back in 1997, we have been avid fans of his brilliant Lincoln Rhyme series and for good reason. His stories have more twists and turns than the Pacific Coast Highway. Just when you think you have the plot figured out, Deaver drops another bombshell that sends Rhyme scrambling for answers and keeps readers white knuckling the book.

Now his 16th volume in the series, The Watchmaker’s Hand, is slated to drop in November, just in time to ensure we spend our winter vacations buried beneath a blanket and glued to his latest thrill ride.

This time out, Rhyme and Amelia Sachs must find out who is behind the mysterious collapse of a construction crane in New York City, an event which left mass destruction in its wake and killed several people. A political group comes forward as the saboteurs behind the horror and threatens to drop another crane from the sky if their demands aren’t met in the next 24 hours.

Now the clock is ticking, the citizens of New York are in a panic, and Rhyme and his team must unravel the plot before more cranes drop. But while everyone else is focused on preventing more mayhem and death, Rhyme draws his own conclusion and deduces that the true mastermind behind the terror is his nemesis known as The Watchmaker. Will Rhyme be able to stop him in time or will the citizens of New York have to keep looking up, waiting for the next crane to plummet to the city below?

As he has done in previous novels, it sounds like Deaver is once again up to his old tricks, turning everyday objects into deadly weapons. After reading his novel The Steel Kiss, we still can’t ride an escalator without worrying that some madman has rigged it to basically eat us. Now it appears Deaver will have us avoiding construction sites!

If this kind of thriller is up your alley—and we can’t imagine that it wouldn’t be, especially if you’re already invested in this compelling series—then make sure you pre-order The Watchmaker’s Hand today so it arrives on your doorstep on November 28. Enjoy!
