A Big Brother Once Again [PHOTOS]

I’ve been looking forward to this evening for weeks and it finally came: the night I met my new Little through Big Brothers Big Sisters! I’ve worked with the organization several times before, and even interned with them during college, and tonight I met my match after weeks and weeks of waiting. I was so excited. 

I picked up Heather from work and we went over to the Big Brothers Big Sisters office a couple towns over and as soon as we walked in, my Little was sitting there drawing and coloring, then looked up and flashed his dazzling smile.

As soon as our Match Specialist introduced me to him and his mom (we’re not allowed to disclose names to protect the family), we started chatting and I knew I liked them both right away! They’re funny and nice, and it seems like we already have a lot in common. Like me, my new Little is a bit of an overachiever, and he likes to do all the things I do: like read and sing and act and so much more.

But that’s the great thing about working with Big Brother Big Sisters. They work hard to make sure that the Big and the Little are compatible, so that it’s easy to meet a stranger and build a friendship that lasts a lifetime. So you’re going to be seeing a lot of this little guy popping up on our blog now as we start planning adventures, hanging out, and having loads of fun.
