Over the years, we’ve met lots of phenomenally talented people because of my job as a journalist and editor. Although some of these folks are already household names, others are rising stars. Today I want to take the opportunity to introduce you to one of my personal favorites, the very talented Steve Young.

Hailing from the UK, Steve is a marvelous guitarist as well as an accomplished singer/songwriter who has worked with some of the biggest names in the business. Last year he decided to go solo, released his debut EP Little Things, and now he wants to perform an intimate acoustic show right in your own home.

On April 26, Steve is going to showcase his talent in an online concert featuring his own music as well as some covers of songs he’s learned over the years. He’ll also debut new material that he hopes you’ll love. The show starts at 11 a.m.EDT, and you can watch here. Just remember to give him a tip!

I really hope you’ll tune in and watch the show, because I know that you’re in for a treat. Last November, Steve came up to Massachusetts with his friend and fellow singer/songwriter, the amazing Maddy Jarmon, whose smoky vocals really complemented Steve’s own pure, intimate sound, which you can sample on Soundcloud. My favorite tunes off the EP are “Integrity” and “Wholeheartedly,” so be sure to check those out.

In addition to being a great performer, Steve also has the heart of a poet, and he bares his soul to us in song, which really speaks to his authenticity as a musician. It also proves why everyone from Broadway’s Ramin Karimloo to Savage Garden’s Darren Hayes sought him out to work with. Steve’s technique and sound are all his own, encompasses a wide variety of musical genres, and make him difficult to pigeonhole, much like one of his favorite artists, Sting.

Take this opportunity to discover Steve Young and enjoy an intimate performance sure to connect your heart to his. You’ll thank me later. In the meantime, check out his live performance on my morning show.
