Barbra Streisand Duet Album, ‘Partners,’ Nominated For Grammy Award

It has been quite the year for the unstoppable Barbra Streisand. It all started with the release of her much-anticipated duet album, Partners, which featured some of the hottest names in the music industry.

From there, she made an unprecedented number of guest spots on shows like Jimmy Fallon, Dr. Oz, the Meredith Vieira Show, and even on the Michael Bublé Christmas special, which aired this past Wednesday night.

Still, Streisand’s legions of fans can’t seem to get enough of her. Partners debuted on Sept. 16 at number one on the Billboard charts, selling 196,000 copies of the album in just the first week alone, then went gold by Nov. 7. This made Babs the first singer to ever have a number one hit record in six consecutive decades, according to CNN.

On Dec. 6, the Brooklyn-bred powerhouse received even more good news. Now Partners has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category! Upon hearing the news, she posted the following note to Facebook:

What nice news to wake up to! So happy to share this nomination with all my wonderful duet “partners.” Michael Bublé. Stevie Wonder. John Mayer. Babyface. Billy Joel. Blake Shelton. Lionel Richie. Andrea Bocelli. Jason Gould. John Legend. Josh Groban. Elvis Presley. Walter Afanasieff. Thank you NARAS and The Grammys. Thrilled and honored. Bx

Other nominees in the same category include: Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga’s Cheek to Cheek, Annie Lenox’s Nostalgia, Barry Manilow’s Night Songs, and Johnny Mathis’s Sending You A Little Christmas. The winner will be announced on Feb. 8, 2015.
