I have loved visiting national parks since my parents took my sister and I to places like the Grand Canyon and Carlsbad Caverns while on family vacations when we were kids. With 62 parks available across the country, there are always new adventures waiting to be had, and you don’t even have to travel outside our nation’s borders to enjoy them. The only problem is knowing where to go and what to do once you’re there. That’s when the ninth edition of National Geographic’s Guide to National Parks of the United States becomes an invaluable resource.

The oceans of the world rejuvenate and fascinate me, which is why I’ll never forget the first time I slipped on my goggles and saw a whole new world fathoms below the surface. Now National Geographic is giving all of us a glimpse into this aquatic wonderland in its breathtaking new book, 100 Dives of a Lifetime: The World’s Ultimate Underwater Destinations.  Continue reading “National Geographic’s ‘100 Dives of a Lifetime’ Makes Us Appreciate This Rock We Call Home [REVIEW]”

There’s a palpable energy there that throbs with life, like an irresistible rhythm that simply invades my soul, and I feel it every time I arrive. Now author and cartoonist Roz Chast captures every nuance of that experience in her love letter to Manhattan, Going Into Town.  Continue reading “‘Going Into Town’ Celebrates Everything We Love (and Love to Hate) About New York City [REVIEW]”
