Willow Harper is a cryptologist framed for selling deadly bio agents on the black market. Gray Box, an off-the-books agency of the United States government, is tasked with finding out the truth about her. But the operative on the case, Gideon Stone, still happens to believe that a person is innocent until proven guilty, and he’s convinced Willow is innocent.
Determined to protect her, Gideon knows she’ll be dead by morning if he doesn’t vigilantly remain by her side. As a result, the duo is thrust into the midst of an international conspiracy which may pit him against the very agency he works for. And even as both their loyalties are tested, they must hunt down the mastermind behind it all… a traitor who has both of them in his cross hairs.
In Nothing to Fear, Rushdan delivers a novel that packs a punch, even as it builds suspense on the international stage. Although she writes great action sequences, Rushdan’s real skill is in writing characters who are multi-dimensional and authentic, including Willow, a computer savant with an outrageous IQ. But is she truly as smart as she appears? After all, she has a certain naiveté about her and seems completely unaware of how she comes across when dealing with others. But it is this duality which breathes life into Willow and makes her complex, human, and ultimately a convincing heroine.
Rushdan also has a gift for understanding how others feel when they are on the outside looking in and readily acknowledges that the differences two people may have do not need to separate them, but can actually bring them together and enrich them both as individuals. And that’s what I love most about this book, how it highlights the ways our humanity can bridge the chasm between disparate individuals if only we are determined to find our commonality.
If you’re looking for a story that is as much a study of human nature as it is a rip roaring suspense yarn, you won’t be disappointed with Rushdan’s latest installment. Pick up Nothing to Fear and enjoy the ride, for this is a taut thriller that preys on our greatest fears and toys with our personal insecurities.

I finished this on Friday and you’re right, it IS a study on human nature. I didn’t think of it in that way, but that’s a good way to describe it outside of a romantic suspense/thriller. Thank you for being on this tour! Sara @ TLC Book Tours
