The Forks Over Knives Plan [REVIEW]

As someone who is always trying to eat right, exercise and reduce stress, I was very interested in reading The Forks Over Knives Plan: A 4-Week Meal by Meal Makeover by Drs. Alona Pulde and Matthew Lederman.

The Forks Over Knives Plan

Touchstone

I’m one of those people who reads all the ingredients in an item before I buy it. I shop at farmer’s markets when available. I have driven over three hours to go to Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. Despite my efforts, I still have high blood pressure. With the assistance of my doctor, I am on a low-fat diet which affects meal preparation for my family. Hence, I am open to suggestions.

Drs. Pulde and Lederman explain “why letting food be your medicine is the smartest step you can take to ensure your excellent health for a lifetime.” (15) Did you know that the American diet “derives more than 90 percent of what we eat from animal-based and processed foods?” (16)

By trying a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle, you can expect prevention of chronic ailments such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, mental clarity, ideal weight, and a sense of well-being and empowerment are also byproducts as well as saving time and money.

Who wouldn’t want all or any of these things? I do, but I will also need the help of my family. Hmmmm, now the fun begins! Surprise honey we aren’t having any meat for dinner!
