What I enjoy most in this novel are the exchanges between Maverick and Kennedy. Robin Bielman has a real knack for writing witty banter, which really hit a home run for me. There were several times these two lead characters made me laugh, mostly because they reminded me of several situations I found myself in when dating my husband. Sometimes I could not win for trying! Yet we laughed until we cried sometimes. Thankfully, Jathan always knew my intentions were good.

Also, Bielman paints a beautiful picture of what a healthy family dynamic can look like. The Owens clan is a hoot, especially when it comes down to the interplay between the siblings. Family doesn’t let you get away with anything!
